Here we will hopefully answer some Frequently Asked Questions about Personal Training.


Why should I hire a Personal Trainer?

The main reason people hire a Personal Trainer is simple – Motivation! For so many people it’s easy to procrastinate and say “I’ll do it tomorrow” or “it’s raining” or “I’m too tired”. There are hundreds of reasons not to exercise. If you have a Personal Trainer (especially a Home based personal trainer), there are very few excuses. We will be there at your door at the agreed time, rain or shine with a big smile…so get the kettle on!!!

Another great reason for hiring a Personal Trainer is that you don’t know how to exercise. We will take you through everything from start to finish and hopefully the next few questions will help you out a bit to start off with.


Does it matter that I haven’t exercised for years?

Not at all. Many of our clients started off with little or no exercise experience at all. The two things we do emphasise is that it won’t happen overnight & that you have to be committed. We will walk you through every step no matter what your experience is. For us it’s about getting our clients to firstly enjoy exercising & then gain the confidence to do other things like events or exercise classes.


How long does a session last?

All our Personal Training sessions last between 45-60 minutes depending on how much we have got through. We would like to think that you have been challenged physically after an hour!


What does a session include?

All sessions include warm up, main session & cool down. There are elements of cardiovascular or aerobic exercise, resistance or weights based exercise as well as a core stability/core strength element. Please see Personal Training page for full details on sessions.


How much does it cost?

We realise that Personal Training is something that not everyone can afford but we also believe that you get what you pay for. Our prices start from £24.00 per session and for this you get expert guidance during each session as well as being able to tap into our wealth of knowledge on health & fitness if you have any questions. We have tried to make our packages as affordable as possible & instalment plans can be arranged if needed.


Do I need any special clothes or equipment?

All you need clothes wise is comfortable clothing and a decent pair of trainers…oh, & a bottle of water and towel!! We supply all the equipment you will use.


Where do we train?

We offer Home, Studio & Gym based Personal Training. Most of our clients train either at or around their own home or use our fully equipped studio.


How soon will I see results?

This depends on your commitment. Remember that there is a lot of the week where we won’t be together so you have to commit to keep your end of the bargain with the exercise & diet part of any agreed goals for the week. If these goals are met then realistically you will be looking at losing between 1-3lbs a week. Basically, you get out of it what you put in!
